In 2015, I met the artist Olayami Dabls, founder of the MBAD African Bead Museum in Detroit, through our mutual friend, Corazon del Sol. Among our other strategic efforts to raise funds for structural repairs and renovations of his museum campus, we produced this book based on his archives of a 1984 series with forty-four construction paper cut-outs that tell the history of the Civil Rights Movement for children.
